Maira Fragoso Peña is a Berlin-based Mexican editorial and visual designer with over 13 years of experience. Her work spans art, culture, architecture, photography, social impact, as well as knowledge and data dissemination.

Her expertise includes editorial design, visual identities, typography, poster design, web design, and art direction, complemented by a deep passion for all things books.

A graduate of Centro de Diseño, Cine y Televisión in Mexico City, Maira holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication and a Certificate in higher education in Typographic Innovation. She earned a Master’s degree in Editorial Design from Elisava School of Design and Engineering  in Barcelona. From 2016 to 2021, she co-founded Ápice Estudio alongside Diego Hernández Beauroyre, where they collaborated closely with numerous cultural institutions, music festivals, publishers, small businesses, etc.

Since 2021, she has worked as a freelance designer, adopting an interdisciplinary and international approach to projects with publishers, NGOs, cultural institutions, artists, photographers, music producers, and cultural festivals worldwide. Since 2023, she has been part of the team behind Miss Read, Europe’s largest art book fair.
